PostSubject: Austin Halleck Mountain Rifle   March 16th 2015, 8:47 pm

When I first got into muzzleloading I purchased an Austin Halleck Mountain Rifle. It has the prettiest tiger stripe maple stock that one could see. The problem is, I put four or five coats of Tru Oil on it. Its way to shiney now. My question is... What can I do to dull the shine back. I really dont want to stripp off the Tru Oil. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

0000 steel wool, soak it with boiled linseed oil and gently buff it. Be very careful around the colors by the stock and any other sharp edges.
