Found a new never shot CVA Hawken .54cal and made an offer, he accepted and so all it looks like I will have to do is polish the lock, triggers, and brown the metal after I bed all the important areas. These suckers are so much fun!

Jonathan,
I bet you forgot what I told you when you rebuilt mine. I suggested that you go into business rebuilding these side locks since you make them look, feel and shoot like new. Now your on your 9th.............Could have hung a sign and opened up a little rebuild-repair shop. scratch It still not to late Exclamation Exclamation As long as there are ML'er forums you can't go wrong. :tup2 :tup2 :tup2

Ray........... :rtup

well I am doing my best to do just that Ray. Its hard moving them at times due to the prices after I finish them but whats a man to do when you put so much work into something to make it better than it ever was from the factory, you know?

Alright!!! The rifle came in today and it actually is in unfired condition. I'll take the time to do a little brass work where its a little proud, strip the stock and re-stain/finish it. Its 2001 model so that is the last year they made them. Very happy with the rifle, looks like it will be a great rifle for someone after I am finished.

Got the tang bedded just now. Will pry it apart in the morning. Will start polishing the triggers and lock next on the list. Damn nice rifle and the wood has some good strong figure as well. Its like my Hawken stock where it has its dark patches and the lighter burl pattern throughout it. I think everything on this one will get browned out!

Wow!!! That is nice...and in my favorite caliber too. A lot nicer than the CVA Mountain Rifle I picked up last week...but I just couldn't pass it up. lol

Shes almost complete! I really slacked and took my time on it, not getting into a rush, but thats ok, she came out pretty. As usual, I always order the rear sight last and so thats going to slow me down once more until it comes in LOL. I'll take pictures later once shes complete. I really like the way the stocks wood grain came out, almost like burl with light spots, dark spots, just a cool pattern.
