Should be a great rifle Robert! Check into the birchwood casey swauber applicators. They are great to use when cleaning out primer soot from the frame. You can really reach down in there and get all the nasty stuff out.

looks like you are ready to go! I'd find a something to wrap around the rear section of the scope. A lot of gasses shoot out of the port holes from the musket cap, It will ruin the scopes finish in no time. Possibly make a camo cloth sock that goes over the tube and secure it with plastic ties or some thin cord.

yep all that rust protection is just nasty in a new rifle. Its there to keep rust out while it comes across on the ship.

Went out to my favorite place to shoot this after noon ,,Worked on sighting in my X bolt 300 win mag, Got it close with factory ammo ,,,Then started playing with my Accura V2 NW ,I wet patched  every 3 shots  , The scope was bore sighted here before I left , I shot 4 shots before paper then did some ups and downs ,Seems like after 2nd shot is when I should wet patch ,,Now my thoughts about 777 powder .I loath it I think that's worse-r than hate,, Is there a powder legal for Oregon beside 777,It seems like the crude ring was there after each shot ,,Thank you for all the help ,,Robert

Not bad accuracy wise.

Yes, Pyrodex RS Or Select, Order Goex IMO. I know, the hazmat sucks, but there are places that will skip the hazmat if you order 5lbs or more. Power valley Inc is a place thats great to order from.

Im very surprised that you got the crud ring with musket caps. Its much worse with 209 primers.

Well it's a newbie thing the ,I will explain better ,After first shot the bullet seemed like it wouldn't go in quite as far as the first shot ,Then the third shot would be a little farther out it this the crud ring or is it normal ,, The breech plug was getting build up in it ,I was keeping the little gas hole clean ,,then my last shot it did 3 miss fires before the shot ,,

That's very typical for T7 powder.

Thats the crud ring. On a fresh clean bore, load up, use a piece of masking tape and mark the ramrod so you have a clear witness mark.

3fg triple 7 may work best. When you use the substitute powders they require more heat to reliably set off. T7 and pyrodex lights off at around 700 degrees while black powder sets off at 350 degrees. When you use #11 caps and musket caps, hang fires or misfires can be a very common issue.

Great I was using 90 grains TP7 FFG ,should I stay at 90 or go lower with the FFFG ? I was using the rod that comes on gun to load It would almost bottom out on the first clean shot,,, no room for tape ,,,
Thank you Robert

That will work. Just make sure it's almost bottomed out all the time when loading.

Tell me more about the rings you used??? souce of purchase?? I bought the warne low and my peep (using the same base rail with the peep combo) cannot be used together. So I removed the peep for now since I like the scope low.  SCope bore sighted in ready for the range very soon.

I bought the scope rings off ebay ,,,http://www.ebay.com/itm/30mm-25-4mm-Dual-Ring-Cantilever-Quick-Release-Scope-Rail-Mount-Picatinny-Weaver-/171745083269?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27fccdff85

I had to do quite a bit of machining to get them to fit the http://www.eabco.net/PeepRib-Peep-Sights-for-CVA-Optima-Kodiak-Wolf-and-Accura_p_13910.html, Unless you have a milling machine it would be hard to do ,,I did cut the scope mount base in two from one solid piece , then I had to machine the lower Peep rib mount for the quick release guides to set in and machine the lower part of the quick release scope mount for the peep to clear ,,I also used my bore site to help set my peep too ,,

solid one piece mount ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Now a 2 piece scope mount and it bore sited great ,, But like you wanted a lower scope mount so I bought this mount of ebay ,
