| Got my .58 cal out and got her ready for the trip to the range in the morning. Hope the weather holds and it rains before I get there. Looking forward to shooting this canon again. I'm not going to use full charge, 90 grains, but I'll use 60 or so. I'll be shooting a .570 ball with a .015 or .018 patch that I rubbed in mink oil and lastly, CCI Caps. Going to try and get good enough with her so I can hunt with her this deer season. We'll see how it goes. Ray.............. A bit of info gents. Before last deer season I had applied mink oil to around 60 or 70 patches. I keep them in a plastic tube the size of the patch with a snap off cap. I wanted you to know that all the patches were just as moist today as they were last Sept. Not one dried out. They were still really moist. Now I'm waiting for Jonathan's Mystery Lube so I can put it thru a bunch of shit to see how it holds up. It could very well be better then mink oil. Jonathan is pretty good about what he does so this lube of his could be the cats ass _________________ Colt 1911 .45 cal Remington 1911 R1 .45 CAL

| Good luck Ray! Its raining here again. My plot already needs mowed as its up to my dogs belly already. Im not complaining!
Lube the patches heavy too. You can experiment and see how things do. Normally by shot 3 or 4, they start loading really easy. |
