cheers
Finally got a day with sun, blue skies and very little wind. Skeeters and ticks still crawling and still flying but I broke out the Therma cell and all was good. Very few shooters yesterday so I got a chance to try out .020 shooting patches with Jon's Mystery Lube and I think the pics speaks for themselves. I started using Goex and then tried T7. Maybe one is better then the other but I couldn't see and difference with just shooting a few rounds. Maybe over a period of time a shooter could but I have to say I was impressed with the T7. I found it smaller and more uniform. The shooters there yesterday were telling me it's cleaner but I didn't notice that because I kept switching powder.
My load was 60 grains of Goex and the same when I changed to T7. I started with .018 patches and the switched to .020 with the Mystery Lube and got it all started with CCI Percussion Caps.
I did not swab the barrel at all while I was shooting.I shot approx 15 .570 lead balls from the 25 and 50 total. No swabbing.

1st pic is 4 shots with Goex and .018. The shot at 2 o'clock was first shot at 25 Yards.
2nd pis is same pic patched up and 4 shots with .020 patch with M/L at 25 yards with T7.
3rd pic is from the 50. The shots in the 8 and 9 ring were with .018 patches with Goex and the low shots were with .020 and T7.
4th pic are patches with the M/L. Top 2 are .018 and the bottom are .020.
I was happy with the results because as I know the eyes are getting weaker but with my glasses I can still see the iron sights without cutting back on distance.

Good goin Ray! I really like that 50 yard target, I think thats the best one you've posted at 50 yards with the Hawken. Its just going to take practice with the sights and especially with seating pressure. Two of the biggest parts of accuracy with PRB.

Wait till I send you the new wet lube! I damn near ripped a thumb nail off today when I hit the short starter and my hand slipped of because it went down so easy. And, its accurate too!

That is some accurate shooting Ray, especially with a .58.
