FYI.....
I use the anti rust and patch lube all the time and I can say that it works. I've shot me 58 and 45 cal Kentucky and Patriot pistols and never had a problem. I think I shot 20 rounds with my 58 my last time out and never swabbed the barrel once and never lost accuracy or consistency. Cleaning was done with less then 6 patches. IMHO........The lube works and I will use it until Jonathan stops making it.........It's worth the money and I'm sure you won't be disappointed with it.

I am new to muzzleloader shooting and I have an older model T/C 50cal (traditional style) that I hunt deer and elk with.
I have a couple of questions:
1. Can you pretreat patches for hunting with one of your products?
2. How often do you use the "Shoot-Out"? (on the range and while  hunting)
I like the idea of the "shoot-out" for enhancing the barrel, especially on an older rifle such as mine.
Thanks in advance

Mike,

You can use the Anti-Rust lube and pre-treat as many patches as you want and they will stay fresh forever without drying out. This is the perfect hunting lube.

Our shootout is strictly a patch lube to be used on the shooting range. You can shoot a few hundred shots through the barrel with this stuff without any hard to the rifling, its very gentle, yet easy on the rifling.

After testing sabots and conicals, I'll run at least 20 shots through the barrel with shootout to clean out anything left over in the bore.

With an older rifle, shootout will do it a lot of good for cleaning any age out of the barrel and keep it fresh.

Jonathan

I was notified that that I was one of the winners from the giveaway, and two days ago a box came with some very cool stuff. The first thing I broke out was the Frontier's Precision Lube oil, because every gun we own lives and dies by the lubes we use.
I loved the steel needle tip dropper. Nothing worse than struggling to control where you're applying your oil. There's a thin feel to it, but it adheres really well to the parts. My first impression was that I'm going to want to use this during the winter, because it won't freeze up or allow the works to bind up from the cold, especially my lever-actions (When I'm not being a frontiersman, I'm being a cowboy. No big surprise there, eh?) Not that freezing up is going to be a big issue here in southern Alabama, but it was always a consideration in Maine.
The next thing I checked out is the anti-rust and patch lube. I've always had great luck using the buttery type lube on my bores, and I've found a variety of other uses for that same type of lube, so this was particularly exciting to me. Great consistency, mild scent; I had to dose up a few patches and run them through my mid-70's CVA Mountain Rifle. I've never applied lube any easier, and I could tell it was adhering to the bore evenly. Nice.
I should be using more exciting adjectives here, but gun care and gun lubes are more about consistent performance and ease of use, which is, admittedly, fairly bore-ing  Wink  stuff. I find the Anti-Rust and Patch Lube to be a real quality product, and I AM excited about that. Anything that makes it easier to properly care for your rifles is a BIG deal to me.
Moving on, it also came with a handful of squeeze-bulb tip applicators, which are handy for about a hundred different uses and getting oils down into hard-to-reach places, plus a pack of patches, and a bunch of cotton-tipped applicators with REAL WOOD stems. It's hard to find the good ones like that!
Quality products through-and-through.

Kudos, Jonathan! And thanks so much.

Jim pirat
