Alright guys, don't order this kit! Its just a mess of parts that doesnt come anywhere close to fitting a CVA Hawken LOL. You'll have to completely reshape the stock at the butt plate, inlet 3/4" for the trigger guard and then the nose cap is for a 15/16" barrel and I have a 1" barrel. Nice parts but not worth the trouble! I'll buy a can of Duracoat and spray my brass brown and bake it on. Parts be goin back!

That is really helpful to know, Jonathan.
Thanks for the time and effort to test it!

I have the kit from them but for TC Hawken. Also a  TG for Renegade that needs finish work then drill and counter sink.  Using on a precarved maple stock for Hawken so no experience there. All look to need fitting on TC factory wood then file off casting marks polish and brown.

NOT drop in parts for sure but good basis to start from.
TC

yeah I actually got some damn good chisels that Marty gave to me years ago and thank god. Im using them now and got the trigger guard inletted. I looked at it more closely and figured what the hell. If I am careful enough I can do the trigger guard. Got it real nice and flush too. Already the trigger guard made a huge difference in looks.

oh fudge Ray, You'd have thrown the bag of parts out the window LOL. My eyes hurt right now from the stress. Ive got the trigger guard inletted and screwed into place. Butt plate was KILLER and theres a ton of metal that has to be removed to make it flush with the wood. Any mistakes can be welded and then filed back. One nice thing about steel.

I think I did a good job on the butt plate for a first timer though.

Nose cap is for a 15/16" gun so I will look into this next.

Evil or Very Mad
I would have never gave it a second thought not to buy the parts for my hawken until you gave us a heads up. It's supposed to be the brass for a hawken. What kind of hawken does it fit or did they put a bunch of parts together and say it's for a hawken Question
Your right about one thing, it would have been out the window after I spoke to whoever about it. I just hope I opened the window first.

supposedly the tc,cva and italian hawken rifles. Its a shit load of work though. I need a hug after this one. I feel drained lol.

I am going to mount the butt plate on a spare parts stock that I have and put it to the grinder to speed this up. That's a ton of steel to remove by hand.

Trigger guard looks great! It feels much more solid when aiming off hand. The butt plate also doesn't have that nasty sharp point at the end like the original. I weighed the rifle and its now 9lbs on the money and I still have to figure out the nose cap issue.

They also make the same kit for the TC Hawken, its a big improvement over the brass for a more period look.
