Been looking at ar15s again. Found a few for a good price. Also looked at sks and aks. In my area it is cheaper to buy an ar.

Aks and sks are $600 to $700

Ars 550 to 2000

Hell Corey, I got an SKS with the fancy tactical stock I'd make a deal with you on. Let me get pictures first so you can see her.

I like the AR platform better and think you get a better buy for the money now. Ergo is much better aftermarket parts are everywhere and the accuracy is better. Reliability doesn't mean much to me if you can't reliably hit your target. Plus optics are a breeze with a flat top.

Jon, I'm looking for a more open platform gun, the ar would be that.

not familiar with AR's? A friend wants to trade me a Sig 716, 308 cal for one of my rifles. Is this a good idea? I have a new in box Remington 700 CDl stainless fluted 30-06, with a Leupold 3.5-10x50 scope, 4 stocks, a lot of extras also. Please advise. I am selling a lot of my rifles.

the Sig is a nice AR platform rifle...and .308 is a great caliber in the AR...I looked at a Sig 617...and its very well built..a little on the heavy side...around 9 pounds...but also a bit pricey...lists for around 2100 but can be had for 1800...the DMR version is close to 3000...and heavy at 12 pounds...lol...its more for match shooting..

from the revews when I was looking ..they were all very good ...and a shooter....
