these mauser was given to me by my father in law. it was put in storage for close to 20yrs. the bore shows it. already cleaned the hell out of the bore. but looks like I got come up with some new tricks.

chamber shot

bore

I think I would get kicked out of a gun shop for bringing one of these in lol!

I don't think there is much i can do to save it. looking in to barrels. looking at $100 to 300 just for the barrel, who knows about the gunsmith fee and if I can find one around here that can mount it. that is something I can not do.

rust remover, flitz, elbow grease and I am sick on top of it. fun day.  also working on refinishing and shaping a stock for my nagant. it was a busy day.

Corey, take a piece of cotton ball and push that down the bore and take a look with the camera. Sometimes you need some extra light to show the true condition of the bore. LED's can give off a weird look thats uneven. Give it a try and see how it comes out.

next time I pull everything out. I see, maybe a cotton ball in the chamber may work well

oiled it real while so I hope it does not build up like it was.

Keep the action and throw the rest away if it's a war-surplus model. Use the action to build a custom sporter or sell it.

it is a sports model but looks a lot like it was used in the war from what I have dug up. going to work on the gun a little more but not right now. gotta finish my nagant project first.
