Guys,
I need help. I have been shooting nearly 60 years. Mostly with scopes. I'm trying to put more spice into the hunt. I am a deer control agent and deer hunting is not much fun anymore (175-270 deer kills yearly). For hunting season I'm going to be using TVM 54 cal patch and ball. Now the problem: how do I cut the notch in the rear sight? File, saw, dremmel or what ? I know...move the rear sight the direction you want the shot to go. Thanks in advance for any help you provide.
Shoot Straight....Shoot Alot !!!

Normally a triangle shaped file for a V shape. Go easy though!

I refined the shallow V on my .45 flinter with a small triangular file from a cheap kit of mini-files. After I got the depth right, I used a thin flat file to make a narrow slot to outline the front sight so a little bit of light shines through around the edge. That made the front sight easier to see.

Take a little at a time, you can't grow it back.

It would be fun ... for a while. Then it would seem like work, especially the cleaning and butchering.
