PostSubject: accura mr problem   November 26th 2015, 5:47 am

i have a 2012 mr, the tan colored one, i picked up from a fellow club member. i have running the standard breech plug with cci 209m primers and t7 or black mz powder. i get no fouling above the breech plug/action fit line, as in on the underside of the scope, below it is another story. i get some fouling in the action/trigger area that is time consuming to clean out.. would the shim kit for the firing pin help this condition? thanks

al-53, i got 1000 cci 209m primers with the rifle, so i would like to set it up for the cci primers if feasible. who is the best source for the shim kit cva? it also came with a jug and 1/2 bh209 powder and breech plug. i plan to get into that when the weather turns colder so i don't have to mess with spit patching in the freezing cold.

Carlos at Ed's gun shop carries the shim kits I believe and shipping is reasonable. Plus Carlos will help you with any other questions you might have. You can find the contact info in the classified section.

If you have the BH 209 B plug, have you tried it  to see if you are getting blow back, they make a O-ring that sets in the primer pocket that will help to seal it up, Other wise the shim kit from Carlos is the best bet.
If you want to try the O- rings, P M me and I can send you a couple to try to get thru the season, then do the shim kit.

the oring sounds like the quick fix, but at 70 yrs i have given up the hunt and am now but a lowly paper puncher. the long term shim solution is the way to go for my purposes. thanks for all the sage knowledge and have a super thanksgiving!
