Went over to Joe's shop today (TheGunWorks) to pick up some Black Powder/supplies, and take a gander at a few of his Ultimate Underhammers.  All I can say is WOW........I do believe this will be my next muzzleloader.  Deciding caliber/twist/barrel-length is going to be a toughy.

Damn nice!! I'd like to see some cleaner inletting howeven on the underside by the nipple. Looked a little choppy and that holds a lot of cap residue build up.

Very nice. The fore-stock design is beautiful.

At the bottom of the page is the "Faeton" design. Its action is very different and inventive. I couldn't find a price on those so it must be astronomical.

You'd be in trouble if you didn't have a tight fit on the cap.

LOL wouldn't that just suck?! A nice bull elk steps out in front of you at 40 yards and ... clink..... Ahhhh man!

You better use those plastic cap holders for damn sure.

Seems it would be a little awkward to uncock it loaded?

I'll go thru the de-cocking procedure with one on my next trip over to see how awkward it is.....I forgot to buy a couple thing while I was there (kicking myself hard for not buying a pound of Swiss).

Yea I would definitely be nail-polishing that cap down if it wasn't a NW muzzy-tag hunt.

Apologies for my lack of enthusiasm, but that just doesn't do much for me.

I think it has a beautifully shaped stock. At around $1700 for a quality arm like that, its not THAT bad. It beats $1700 for a plastic stocked inline lol!

The one I want at the moment is a little .69 carbine version he has down there without the nipple-inlet stock (technically not an Ultimate.....same action, though).  Feels as light as my Accura MR.  Much cheaper, too.

I think it's pretty neat that they offer the actions to builders.
