PostSubject: New TC Encore 209x50   March 31st 2016, 5:09 pm

I've been shoosting the TC Encore's, Pro-Hunters & Endevour since 2005 and currently in my inventory are the TC Endevour and Pro-Hunter rifle. But a sponsor on a forum here in Canada had the 'blued' original TC Encore for a mere $459.95 ($354.42 US) brand new!!
So of course I had to buy one. This is the exact same one that my brother bought back in 2004 and paid over $700 for. But it was this Encore that got me hooked. When it arrived today and I un-packaged it and  took it from the box I shouldered it and immediately it brought back memories of that first day.
It doesn't have the same feel as the Pro-hunter either. It feels original. I replaced the extractor after cleaning and removing all the factory preservative oil. I plan on keeping the open fiber optic sights and will be using the tried & true 300gr Hornady XTP and Pyrodex RS. I intend on taking it to the range this week to break 'er in I will give a review. Anyways, I'm pretty happy once again and can't wait till hunting season Smile
It's been a good week too as I obtained 2 new muzzleloaders, the TC Encore & a Lyman Deerstalker flintlock. Some good smoke to be made.
Thanks for reading cowyboy hatoff

I've owned the Prohunter and the original Encore.  I ended up selling the Prohunter to fund another project but I kept the original Encore with the wood stock set.  I too like the feel and don't mind using the BP wrench at all.  I'm kind of an old fashion guy. If you find another one for $354.42 US put my name on it!  Very Happy
Congrats on the find and let us know how you do hunting.

Thanks all,
So I made some smoke the other day. I started with Pyrodex RS (100grs v) and the Hornady 300gr XTP.
Well I must say with the open sights I was maxed out at 100yds with the elevation.
I then proceeded to try 2x Pyrodex pellets and groups were approx 5" low, next were 2x T7 Magnum pellets and the bullet hit 1.5" right of bullseye and centered. So I then tried 120grs v of loose Pyrodex and hit 1/2" left of bullseye and centered and lastly I shot 110grs of loose Triple 7 and it hit just low and right of bullseye. All shots were in the killzone which is good. When I have more time I'll start working for groups with the Pyrodex RS, it's dirtier but I have lots Very Happy

2x T7 Magnum pellets

120grs volume loose Pyrodex RS

110grs loose T7

As you can see in the pics, the other holes lower in the target were the 100grs v loose Pyrodex RS loads.
Thanks for looking Smile

You might want to consider one of these for that Encore.

Yes thanks GoexBlackhorn Smile, I am quite familiar with Mike Bellm's TC improvements. They work great! I did my brothers Encore and and a few others besides my two.
I'm just going to wait until the Canadian dollar gets a little better, hopefully before hell freezes over lol.
Cheers and Thanks
