PostSubject: Gearing up for hunting season   April 17th 2016, 3:55 pm

I got the cool weather gear down so far. It was 30* when I took my dog out for his hike and that crazy fool ran so hard that he stopped, puked his guts out and then took off like a rabbit through the trees and brush

I ordered this shirt not to long ago. I ordered some buttons but it looks like I'll only need one just under the neck to keep it closed nicely.

The buffalo vest I got last year in trade (bear hide - cash and advertisement) It was actually to warm to wear it. I was sweating pretty good after the short hike. It was nice feeling the warmth running up through the shirt to my neck though. I was surprised at how well I kept warm today despite the cold and the wind.

Great day! Got home, adjusted the buttons on the vest, now its time to hydrate and see what tomorrow has to offer.

Pants and moccersins are next up.

You'll kill yourself with mocs in the snow. Ask me how I know? Those things are definitely for dry ground.

Looks good and you blend well with nature, except for that "shines like a dime in a goats ass" brass. Laughing

Is your shirt made of wool?

Nope, no wool. Its light weight, breathable cotton. I put on a long john shirt under it. Even that it was to hot due to that buffalo vest.

Looking good!

Did you find Leonardo DiCaprio out there? jocolor

Beware of cotton in the outdoors. Exclamation

Once wet, it vents all body heat and is of no help in preventing
hypothermia.

Hypothermia is one of the biggest dangers on a hike. It is
especially dangerous during mild weather when you let your
guard down.

Yeah, I was a scout. Smile

What a great opportunity FG to test your gear out with that spring snow in the background!
Hope you don't mind but I took some black and whites and liked the contrast...great start.   :rtup
